In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler finds herself in a high-profile job she’s not suited for, with tectonic implications for her marriage and her political future. The producers convinced the US and British governments to allow them to use real sets as filming locations for the series, including the newly opened US Embassy (in Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

The only place available was Winfield House, the actual residence of the American ambassador. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential plot in London (11 hectares) after Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.

The Diplomat has everything you could want from a good series… it has comedy, drama, quality acting and story, etc.
I loved this series so much that I watched all eight episodes in one weekend
The series follows a diplomat (Keri Russell) who gets a new job in the UK after an aircraft carrier is attacked and an international crisis ensues. She has to deal with her husband (Rufus Sewell), who is already a political star, and their unstable marriage.
I’m really looking forward to seeing it and seeing where this series goes
It did so well and was so well received that it has already been renewed for another season.
