Lives change, and we often do not notice it
Chronology
Reflections on love and past time; a woman searches for her lost lover among the ruins of a destroyed city, as well as her own broken memory, the Three Gorges Dam swallows cities whole, just as time swallows people, women sing and dance from joy and pain, and dreams rise and sink again. Using mainly excerpts and clippings from previous films, Zhang-ke weaves an intellectual and creative story.
