Set in the utopian Piltover and the oppressed underworlds of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League of Legends champions and the power that will tear them apart. Riot was so impressed with the work that they asked Fortiche to create an animated series, which took several years. After the first season premiered, Riot announced that there would be a second season, and that it would take less time to produce. Cast: Imagine Dragons ft J.I.D. Arcane tells the story of two young orphan sisters who grow up and get into trouble in the two cities of Zaun and Piltover. The series is based on the video game League of Legends, and while it immediately transports the viewer to that fictional world, the necessary time and attention is devoted to creating the locations and characters in a commendable “show, don’t tell” style.

The animation is simply amazing

The solid character development and world building mean that this is a really enjoyable experience, even if you know nothing about the game. As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be far superior to anything I’ve ever seen in an animated series. The attention to detail is incredible.

It’s obvious that no artistic talent or money was spared to bring the world of Runterra to life. Great soundtrack, great acting, and an exciting story that doesn’t shy away from violence and more mature themes. With only the first three episodes out so far, I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
