Chronology
Follow the story of a group in London during the bombing of the British capital during World War II. Saoirse Ronan and Harris Dickinson previously starred together in See How They Run (2022). Saoirse Ronan is clearly very good in her role. However, you don’t really have much to do. The film doesn’t really take full advantage of the premise. I found the focus on the child character a bit boring. The pacing of the film is also quite poor and I watched it the entire time. It has good direction and cinematography. The visual effects are also quite solid. The sound design gave me whiplash with how often it went from very loud to very quiet. It’s actually not a bad film, but it’s so simple and predictable that it’s disappointing. Check out the full lineup for the 62nd New York Film Festival this fall.
